65 rear spoiler
40 years ago when I had my first vette I found a tiny front and rear spoiler, I think from Eckler's, that I fiberglassed on the car. Both where only about 2". Now my 65 roadster has a front spoiler and I'd like to add the rear spoiler this winter when she gets some body work and a new paint job.
Has anyone seen someone selling something like that? About 2" and is fiberglassed right on the edge of the rear deck.
Thanks

Ok,
who put you up to this?
Someone told you that if you sign up on the CF and write a post saying you want to stick Eckler's ground effects wings on your mid-year 100s of old codgers will go nuts. This is elder abuse. Larry Shinoda is cartwheeling in his grave.
Don't even think about it. It isn't 1970 anymore.
thank you

oh yea the duck tail on a mid year. One of the most single ugly items on a mid year. Haven't seen one that looked good yet

Is this what you are shooting for?
Kinda cool for the old school custom vibe.

Ha, Ha, your guy are cool ! That spoiler on the white car is a little to big.
I get the same thing from my early Porsche crowd. Hence I joined the RGRUPPE. Early porsche's that are hot rodded. You all remember back in High School when we made "sleepers". That's our Porsche gruppe. Mine's a light weight 72 coupe with fiberglass parts, light weight components (total weight reduction of 150 lbs, now 2200 lbs), AC Cobra rear view mirrors, 74 rear valance and a 78 twin plug with weber's making 245 hp (9:1 power/weight). The Porsche has 237,000 miles, has been on 3 race tracks in Florida/Georgia and 3 race tracks in the Pacific NW.
I don't do stock, I fashion my cars to my likes, I lean more to road racing. the Corvette will go the same way as my first one, drive it , drive it and drive it.

So much more fun than being a check writer.
I can relate to the "sleeper" you spoke of. My 72 SB camaro was built to deceive and smoked many smug car owners with big motor loud exhaust tire smoking machines.

The ducktail always left too much empty real estate above the tail lights for my taste. I have seen a few Sting Rays with either the short early Camaro or 70' z28 spoilers modified to fit, that flowed well and did not have the high pockets look out back.
Enzo Ferrari once dismissed the corvette as a cult car because the owners were too timid to drive them hard or modify them. He believed the Jeep was more deserving of the title of the American sports car because the owners were more inclined to personalize and modify them, and beat them hard.
Spoil your car to personalize it, and make Enzo proud.

The spoiler I had was just about 2" glassed on the rear deck. The front spoiler was the same, about 2". After I had it painted I drove down to my sisters. On a section of straight road I put my foot into it, in the shop for a month. Where before I had to hold on with both hands to kept it on the road at 120mph now I could take my hands off the wheel at 135mph.
I'll keep looking.
