I got the hinge pillar supports out today. Tomorrow I will begin removing the rocker supports. Not sure exactly what all is going to be envolved there but I'll know soon enough. If anyone has any input it's appreciated. I'm not certain the inner rocker panel cover has to come off.
The frame and suspension parts are finally at powder coat.

Looks like you're making some good progress.

I actually enjoy the build....probably even more than when it's done. Kind of crazy huh?

Keep it up!

I enjoy the building as well. Although I'm old feeble can't hear can't see and quite stove up after a day under the dash yesterday. I can't honestly say grinding out steel rivets and rusted bolt heads was fun especially where you can't see but that is done now. Now I move on to removing the rocker supports. When I look at mine I think this is the rustyest one there is, but when I look at pics from other people doing the same I know it's not and apparently many just skip over this part of the "frame off" restoration. Right now I'm just!

I'll post this in 2 parts as I don't know how to post several pics in the same post. I removed one rocker support panel today. Wanted to do both but after eating all of the dirt from the first side I decided enough for one day. First I removed the end cap on the rocker panel at the rear in front of the rear tire. Then I removed the rivets holding the inner rocker panel. The bottom of the rocker support panel was eaten completely away so I didn't have to worry with those to get the panel out. After getting the rivets out and breaking the cement loose I hooked a ratchet strap to the back of the inner rocker and pulled it out the back.

Hinge pillar support and rocker panel support. If the hinge support is rusty more than likely the rocker support is toast.

I don't think mine look that bad! (at least I hope not). Will you be able to reinstall the new steel without having to cut the outside fiberglass? I have my steel door braces in the car, and I might just go ahead and replace the steel rockers now (I had planned to wait until it was closer to repaint).

Hello Ricky, yes they come out with no outside work. You can see them some through the hole in the floor on each side or remove the plug in the back. If the bottom of the had nge support is rusted away I don't see how the rocker support could miss the rusting as well. Did you have any issues with the bolts in the huge supports?

Man you are moving! Love the painted parts/frame. Will you bring the frame home to assemble?

The rear end center section. Took all well most of the advise and went with the 44 w/3:45 gear. I am mocking the car with some o.e. and some not hardware, after pre assembly I will get it all cad plated. I would like to say a HUGE thank you to Charles Bernhardt, Carols62, for all of your posts on your cars. If you think posting pics doesn't help I have built this from his pics and a tremendous amount of help from Ricky Ott,ricott, as well. Feels really good to finally be putting a few pieces on instead of the constant removing and seeming like I'm going nowhere. I do have to add here I feel like I'm building a circle track B car after looking at 67 restomods car,chgc267. Man that thing is beautiful and appears perfect in every detail.

I took my doors and trunk lid to be soda blasted as a trial run for the entire car. The guy says soda won't touch the doors because Picaso got too carried away with the 3M. I would have to get it off first. So as I'm driving home I thought I've got a cheap pressurized blaster I'll try it myself after I get all the adhesive off. I used Citristrip to remove the adhesive and blasted with Armex medium soda. I'm open to all critiques!

Slow, slow going. Here's the frame so far. Hopefully I will begin blasting the body this week.
