That time of year. Hardtops on 61 and 65
It's that time of year. The annual ritual of putting the hardtops on the 61 and 65. Love the looks of the hardtops. Changes the look of the cars. My wife helped as usual. Now I can drive without freezing my a$$ off.

I've had the 56 since 1973 and always removed the hardtop in late spring and put it back on mid-Fall. But for the past 2-3yrs, the hardtop has not been removed. I don't know why, it just hasn't.

Last year I didn't put the tops on since we spend time in Florida in the winter. Just awful cold when we came back. Not doing this again. I will leave that to Jack up in Maine.

I love your Mass. looking cottage style garage and setting......it's beautiful, all tucked away in the woods like that.

My hardtop goes the other way this time of year. Basically I want the 66 to spend the winter with the soft top up and in position through the winter storage. If the hardtop is installed for the shoulder season it comes off and on a stand until warm weather returns here in Maine. I have had Corvettes where the prior owner left the soft top down for some time and the vinyl shrinks. Many days in the hot sun are required to make it functional again and often the rear doesn't fully latch.

[QUOTE=Kerrmudgeon;1593259306]Wow.....just gorgeous! Thanks for those pics. Do you get much snow in the winter? What's the name of that lake btw?
Is that a Donzie on the lift? ?
It is Mashpee Wakeby Lake. It's 730 acres and 103 feet deep. Big for the Cape but small compared to the lakes in Northern New England. We get plenty of snow in the winter. It is a 2000 Donzi Classic 18. Fuel injected Chevy small block. 70 mph makes the lake seem smaller
Winter pics:
