C2 dash lighting
Just wanted anyone interested to know that I installed a set of the new LED bulbs in my 65 instrument panel and they are awesome. The dash lighting has really come alive. The website is superbrightleds.com

Did you use the BA9S retrofit? Cool or warm ?
Did you use any greens or a red?

I have them too from superbrightleds. My experience is that the leds can be dimmed, but the resistor in the light switch does not do the job (current is much lower with leds, so the effect of the resistor is lower too). I had to put a high power rating potmeter in series for correct setting of the intensity . The pot is hidden under the dash.

I installed mine last year, and just love it. I can actually read all the gauges at night. It's a nice little upgrade modification.

I bought two of these LEDs to test in our '66 turn signals. Prior to this test, the turn signals worked great. With one LED in place (left side), when actuating the signal, it didn't work. The green light in the dash stayed lit with no blink and nothing lit up in the rear on that side. Thoughts?

Wish 65 396 would answer the question about whether or not his LED's are dimmable???

If by chance you install LED lamps and find they are not dimmable (but wish they were) an easy and cheap solution is to use a Pulse Width Modulator (PWM) to dim them.
You can get them for less than $4.00 on E-Bay. A 5 amp unit would be sufficient.

I guess I was "lucky", as my SuperbrightLEDs.com LEDs dim very nicely.
Must be a C1 vs C2 thing........although I would expect that GM used the same value headlight switch dimmer resistor for both Vette series.
In my case, this was the first time the dash lights ever needed to be dimmed!
I installed the Superbrightleds.com # BA9s-WWHP5 (warm white) for my 62's instruments.

Rick327 did you do all the dash lights or only the where the OE 1816 are located. Assume you did not do the brake or headlight flashing indicator lights. Did you do the signal lights? How about the high beam indicator light?
