Congratulations on the new 66! We need to see pictures sometime. 66-67 use basically the same jack. Main difference from other years are the two washers on either side of the plastic washer at the hex end of the shaft. Early 67's were not dated but Jan of 67 GM started dating the jacks. The date is like 67A, 67B, etc on the lower left cross brace above the bottom plate. The tops have an A stamped into it. Priced in the $400-700 range usually. Here's an example on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CORVETTE-C2-...NX8SnO&vxp=mtr

Jacks:
- mid-May & later 65 thru 68 all the same, except for date coding which started Jan 67
- mid-May & later 65, 66 & 67 (before Jan 67) are exactly the same with no date code
- all have the nut turned in on inside (made jack shorter to store)
- all have a white nylon bearing sandwiched between 2 washers
- all have the letter "A" stamped in the top plate (made by Ausco)
- all have a course thread screw
- all have a base 6" x 4-1/8"
Handles:
- 66-75 handles are all the same with 3 elongated holes
- 65 handles only have 1 elongated hole
I'll get some pics of my 66 jack shortly. Bill

Here's some pics to show you what to look for when tracking down a jack.
The first 5 pics are of my 66 jack. The handle shown with it that I use is a 65 jack handle (only has 1 elongated hole ... 66 handles have 1 elongated hole in the top like this one, plus 2 more elongated holes on the sides). I have two 65 handles and zero 66 handles. Eventually I'll find someone who needs a 65 and has a 66.
The 6th pic shows a dated 67 jack ... "C7" (Mar 67) on the lower side bar. Remember jack dating did not begin until Jan 67 so you don't want a dated one.
The last 2 pics identify the different handle versions. Hope these help in your search for that (expensive) jack. Bill

The jack listed here I suspect is a late 65 because its showing a 65 handle and it has the nylon bearing. But that jack appears undated so it would work for a 66 or a 67 up to Jan 67. Bill

Wait, what?
$700 for a jack???
I'll be looking at mine as soon as I get home.
If it's a real one, I'm going to quit carrying it in my impossible to lock convertible.

They used to sell nice repro type III jack at long Island Corvette for 180 $, but the repro was discontinued I think maybe it is still available at other stores

[QUOTE=NightshiftHD;1593299091]Not quite correct on the date coding ... Ausco used only 1 number for the year and 1 letter for the month.
You know, I knew that, but for some reason my fingers forgot.
