Default 63 convertible in Florida

I can't quite figure out why this car, which has been relisted several times, keeps stalling out with bidding ending in the mid-to-high 20Ks...
About the third time for this with reserve not met...

Yes, it has a wrong master cylinder, headers, screw clamps on over-the-counter hoses, pinch weld caps on door jambs missing, Hurst shifter, ignition shielding missing (could be radio delete), etc..

All easily correctable items IMO..
Of course the frame and birdcage are always a question but it seems this car just can't get off the ground bid-wise.

I must be missing something:

Probably frame, birdcage issues. Hurricane flood car?

I'm not paying a dime over 28k with a missing passenger inside door handle. Really, the selling dealer can't put one on?

The antenna looks weird too. Mine sticks straight up. That right there probably sounds weird too.

63 convertibles are the bottom of the food chain.
Almost no one is looking to buy one, especially if it is needy.

All those mid years look the same, except for those 63 coupes with the rear window design flaw......

Have some coffee....

I agree that a 63 vert is the lowest, but I love them all. I am an owner of a red headed step child 64 coupe, missing my recently sold 66BB......

I've been on the forum nearly 10 years now and I have never heard a '63 vert is lower on the food chain of desirability than a '64. I'm devastated.

I didn't see any real showstoppers on this car but its a good 4 hour hump to drive down and inspect. Just thought it might be cool to have a 63 coupe and a 63 convertible in the stable (both red) like my buddy mark6669 has (his are viper red LS3s though)!!

Especially if it is an unloved ride with good bones that just needs some love and I can steal it...

no intent to cast aspersions on any 63 conv owners or their cars. Just offered one person's possible explanation to Mr. Fink why a particular 63 conv might be languishing in the marketplace. I happen to have a very good friend who owns a beautiful 63 conv. I love his car.
I will gladly take back what I wrote if necessary so that no one feels any micro aggression. All mid-years look alike (except for the one year window flaw), all are exactly the same, and all are equally worthy.

I get it....
But there must be some unseen item on this car holding it back...or it could have the eBay disease...once a car gets passed on relisting can't seem to overcome the curse..

There is a bunch of cars that get listed on eBay for months she even years that never sell and appear to be decent cars. Pictures can be deceiving.

Any of you guys want to sell me one of those "bottom-of-the-food-chain" 63 L84 convertibles for a song, I've got a check waiting...

With midyears, I think value is more dependent on the particular car, than on the year. While the car in question might be at the bottom of the food chain, that value has more to do with options and condition than the fact that its a 63 convertible.

Frankly, I sorta doubt that many 64, 65, or 66 midyears, will bring more at auction than my 63 L84 really original engine, 2 time Duntov convertible.

Still, I think any midyear would have to fight its way through a lot of Mustangs to get to the bottom the food chain...
