'63 Park lights question

Default '63 Park lights question

I noticed that when my headlights were on, my park lights were off. They come on normally when the switch is pulled, then off as the headlights are switched on...are they normally off when headlights are on?

Yup, that is how they are designed to function on 63-7 Corvettes.

Because in those days, they indicated you were "parked" and didn't want to get run over.

He got a 63, you know low end of the totem pole. Maybe it didn't even come with an owners manual.

No, he got the sport coupe model. Quite high up the food chain. Easily in the upper half at least. Very near the top, especially if a fuelie.

As noted they go off when the headlights are turned on.
Some people have them wired so they stay on when the headlights are on.
I think it is a good safety improvement.

It should have been in my glove box--but no--not there. Thanks to all for letting me know--I can find something else to fix or complain about.
