Default 1963 Rear Wheel Bearings

A friend has asked me to rebuild the rear end suspension, etc under his '63 Vette. I have rebuilt vettes before so I'm familiar with what needs to be done but I was hoping to find a supplier that could supply the wheel bearing carrier with spindle and bearing already installed. I haven't been able to find a supplier for that for the '63 with drum brakes. Can anyone tell me of a supplier that does this rebuild for the drum brake cars. Thanks .

Try Yogi Blair's or Van Steel.

Default Rear

But its cheaper to send your units to them for rebuild than buying outright.

If it's a 63 and the spindle and related parts are original to the car you want to send them the parts and be certain they overhaul and send the same parts back.

If it's a early enough car the spindle is not a press but a slip fit and the job can be done at home.

Van Steel out of Tampa is great - for steering boxes and most other suspension components too... They know all about the '63 idiosyncrasies as well...

They just restored my 63 coupe steering box to NCRS standards and its a thing of beauty...

Default Van Steel

Hey Frankie: Van Steel is over the bridge in Clearwater. They do nice work. Artie and the boys powder coated my frame and rebuilt the trailing arms. Still looks new after all of these years. Jerry

??? I thought they were all pressed in. Any idea when this changed in the 63 production year?

Last week, I cancelled an order for a brake kit (calipers, pads, lines) and a master cylinder from a Florida company. They lost my first order so I placed it again by phone. They sent me everything but the calipers which they told me were on backorder for a month.

I kept the MC, cancelled the backorder, sent back the rest of the order, and placed an order for a brake kit with Van Steel. I had all the parts the next day.
