Default Look what shows up to local show: Single Owner SWC

We have a monthly show at the IN-N-OUT Burger that draws about 50-60 cars. Mostly the usual people... but today, a guy no one knows rolls up in an all-original, 63 SWC.. I ask him "how long have you owned it?".. he says "I bought it new in 63".. It had a re-paint 25 years ago, but everything else is original, including the interior. 327/300. 32K original miles.

Boy, I'd like to go over some areas on that car with a flashlight and camera...

Growing up in SoCal, we always went to In-N-Out and NEVER McDonalds. That is truly the one thing I miss about living there, but it's not enough to move back.

I met a guy this summer whom had a 55, never seen it before, same color as Roy's. He was original owner, had done all the maint himself over the years, car looked perfect. We talked for half hour, then went on our way. Never have seen him again.

I'm in Escondido and would go to the show if I knew when and where. Also a great excuse to eat a double-double, animal style!

Great car. Not too fond of those wheels though. They seemed to be the "in" thing in the mid to late 70's.

Hey Ray - The club is the Poway Cruisers, and the show is the first Saturday of the month.. Year round. At the IN-N-OUT burger on the corner of Scripps Poway Pkwy and Community. 11am to 1:30. No entrance fee. In-N-Out donates a few trophies and the club does a raffle for some car goodies. And of course, the burgers!

Next one is Sat Dec 3 - hope to see you there!

Just park anywhere and come up to the table to register.

Fred

Hey thanks Fred--That sounds like just the right amount of time for a show and lunch. I'll put it on the calendar--

I'm struggling a little with eating anything from someplace called "In-n-Out"....I get a mental image I can't seem to shake...

I'll stick with White Tower...

It referrers to the drive-through..
You guys don't know what you're missing.
Very fine burgers.

A SoCal tradition for many decades.. and a deep connection to the car culture.

Check out their new shirt design.. Notice the reflections of the cars?

I ordered one of the new shirts from their website. They always have some nice designs.

I miss their great burgers from my time spent in CA. Have also had them in the Phoenix area and in Ft. Worth. Best fast food burger in my opinion.

Ok, can someone explain how this thread went from an original owner SWC, to fast food?
