Default how does C2 front fender cutout lip look

On my 64 I took off the fender flares and installed repair kits. I need to reproduce the lip below the repair kit, whoever fabricated the flairs cut off the lips towards the front. I also wonder if they removed extra body next to the lip. Can anyone help with photos of an original car showing the lip and including measurements from referance points you think wsill be good ones. This is a FI car so it is worthy of that extra mile.

also please measure the lip width in differant areas, the repair kit lip is wider then the lip by the opening in the rear of opening.

Did you purchase the bonding strips for the turn signal panel to fender?

Those will help some for length and possibly the lip ...

Like 66jack said. The flange IS the bonding strip.

what a horror.. now I know why the bonding strip for the upper fender has the raised area, I put the other bonding strip already down.

The bonding strip is the LIP...

I know pics are worth a lot, but when you put it up there you'll see how it fits...give it a try when you get them...

Default got the cutout/bonding strips

hate to bother you guys.. I may have to find a straight car to look at but I know of none.

I bought those bonding strips but the edge of my cutout does not even come close to the shape of the strips. likely a previous owner removed material which I must put back before I can attach the strips. attached are photos of the areas I need measurements on. maybe one of you has a car that can be measured and you have the time.

I know replacing the parking light panels will solve it but I believe just lengthening the right areas will be easier and cheaper.. I am quite comfortable working with fiberglass. thanks for all your help

I have a factory front section that I am going to make into a wall hanging that I can measure out for you and get back to you tomorrow.

Both measurements were 6-1/2"

Do you need any more?

I have no inner skirts attached to this clip.

hey Dub, apparently my car is pretty close where you measured it.. where it gets wacky is below that area and under the car.

when I position the new bonding strip/lip, the body does not reach it in the lower areas. it just floats in the air. looks like I need to add an inch or so underneath.

Could you measure it underneath according to my photo above that says "does this look right, i dont think so". and maybe photograph how it looks inside. on both sides. I think there is where the boucher did his dirty deeds and cut the body short.

Poppy.... here's the underside of my 63. Best pics I could get.

Your first measurement is as close to 6" as it can get

The second measurement, trying to duplicate your position, is between to 4 1/4 " to 4 5/8 "depending".

Sorry I couldn't turn the tape over. I had poor access from the other side, and it was easier to hook the tape over the trailing edge of the panel.
