exactly and whoever said 60k knows NOTHING about selling said car (assuming everything is as the OP says) In my area (SE Pa) the demographics would easily dictate an asking price of 69-75K.

if you part with it for anything less than 65K you need to seek medical attention asap !

I agree! In the last 10 years I sold a few cars that I regret very much. Old corvettes & most muscle cars are better investments than the stock markets AND MUCH MORE FUN!

I agree with the $75K minimum. You've got a showroom looking car with original KOs. The KOs alone would bring $10K. Like others here, sometimes I am afraid to drive mine as well, but that feeling usually doesn't last too long. You only live once.

Lovely, just frickin' lovely!!

Star out at $75-77 and let them get a steal at $70. Everyone walks away happy...

Default 65 coupe

Just to get an idea, there is a 65 coupe almost the same as yours on ebay. It is an L79, but is a Bloomington Gold car, original paint etc. The current bid is in the low 50's. two days left. In my experience, bidders do not bid up to the real value(looking for a deal) on ebay. In this case it is a special car, being all original. I expect the bid to go much higher. We'll see.

Well they are the same car mostly but two worlds apart, it being a survivor, let alone Bloomington Gold. Total original car with rock chips and lacquer checked paint. Different buyers on these usually.

I agree. The 65 to 70 quotes are I think market today. But with the election, and the Auction January season so close, I would wait at least until next spring.

Are the side pipes original to the car? Does it have any factory / dealer paperwork? Owner history? All these things add PROVENANCE and value. The more the better. West coast, no rust car?

Enjoy the Holiday season

What a beautiful car!

Unless you really need to sell the car, you really should keep it.

You will regret selling a car like that. You will always be looking at others and "remember when".

With that being said; that car should be an easy sale at a premium price. Plus you're in the bay area that's one of the wealthiest regions of the United States.

Again....beautiful car!

I am the one that said 60k I am also in SE PA . I am sure people are hoping to get more cash for their cars but if you have been following the market in the last 6 months, cars just are not bringing the money. You can watch the auction sites and see some bringing 75k but then in real life its not happening. Prices have been down since the election and end of last season . Its like real estate, you can price it where you want but it will just sit there. Barrett Jackson and Mecum have clouded peoples eyes. They watch the tube and all of a sudden their car jumps 10k.

Check some of the big Corvette guys, Mershon, Proteam others. Their prices are not this high and usually they are priced more than the public. Guys may not be crazy about those names but they do know the market.

Case in point is the white 67 in Colorado on the Forum for 55k. Everyone raves about the car and its still there and priced fair.

I know how the OP must feel, with a car that clean, every drive there's the possibility of a stone chip or scratch, a distracted texter plowing into the pristine panels. The car will never look any better than it does today.... so sell before it begins to deteriorate?

I agree the market is not strong at the moment, so perhaps the best strategy is hold on till next spring or summer in the hope of getting another 10%, but it wouldn't cost anything to advertise it FS here at 75K and see what happens. Knockoffs alone are worth 1500 a wheel.

People always pay more for special cars, and that one's definitely got "the look".

Yep, I'm the one that made that reference and I stand buy it, for if you feel that to 'ask' 60k is reasonable I believe you have spent too much time in close proximity to your neighboring nuclear plant......

Suffice it to say you are in the minority here, besides the car resides in Ca. not SE Pa so perhaps demographics plays a part as well. For the record the number one Corvette specialty shop in our area (County Corvette, West Chester, Pa) would have that listed for north of 70k....... again I say 'listed' for doing so @ 60k is just plain (edited).

County Corvettes is a dealer, the OP is a private sale. Tell me how the show went at CC yesterday? Plain stupid and over paying is just crazy. I can get a car shipped for 1000 bucks coast to coast. Just because they pay more for a car doesnt mean its worth it.

great, a fun time was had by all

over paying is just crazy.
agreed again, but unless I'm mistaken the OP needs a starting point and 60k is not IMO .........and that of quite few others as well !

Default The reserve on the gold 65' is $68K

I think that puts your car at around $60K. If no one bids to $68K on the Bloomington car, it sounds like the owner might make an arrangement with the high bidder. It is a nice car. Only original once.
The dealer gets a cut, raises SP above what the owner wants. All speculation until the auction is over.
