yes, it is all relative. My thinking is that the car was probably $4-4500 new and they generally were sold for much less in the early to mid 70's. My buddy across the street tells the story of when he went to sell his 59 corvette (he purchased in 62) in the early 70's and couldn't get $1700 for it so he did a frame on restoration and still has it.

$2500 was a lot more money when everybody was making $8 an hour.

People are still making LESS than $8/hr here in NC!!
