The Bill of Sale shows Jack paid $1150 for it in 1974. In making a few assumptions about the car's current value and doing a rough calculation, it looks like it appreciated approx 10% per year. Who said old Corvettes are poor investments?!

I bought my '67 from the original owner in the Sept '71 for $1800.00
So 45 years there.
A friend in our club has a '63 convertible that he bought new in the fall of '62 in Minnesota - it's on its' second frame......

Except I'm edging you out as my Dad got his in Nov 1960 as a present from his grandfather for joining the US Air Force.
Mine has 135K -- he was stationed in Texas and would drive home (to Chicago) on weekends!

My personal unbroken Corvette C2 Ownership, bought them and still have them (none have ever been sold) is 65 years combined! Now if I can add in my C3, my total Corvette ownership jumps to 74 years by totaling all three of my cars!
As long as Dealers stay out of this one (the Pro Teams and Corvette Mikes), I have respectful numbers! If they are allowed in under my interpretion of the rules, if they have had 75 cars on their lots for one year, they would pass me up!
Now if I can count the other Corvettes belonging to the immediate family, my number jumps way up there to well over a hundred (129 years of Corvette Ownership, just during my own lifetime or 122 years of Ownership for the current four cars we currently still have in the family)!
I am a good cheater! You don't want to run into me in a street race!
Ps Damn! I forgot to factor in my extended family, having an Uncle and Cousin that had cars!

Wow.
I had previously noticed some of you guys with long ownership stories, but I truly had no idea.
I am blown away.

I bought my '66 Roadster the first week in July, 1975 for $3,200! Still going strong after 41.5 years! It will likely be with me for the rest of my life!
Merry Christmas everybody!

We bought our '64, 2-top convertible, as the 3rd owners in February 1985. I drove it as my DD until summer of 1995 when it got parked for a few years. After a five year nut & bolt rebuild, it got back on the road in 2010.
I thought 31 years was a long time, until I read thru many of the posts here.

Can I get credit for having owned my Five Seven Chebby for 50 years as of December 14?
