67 vette neutered
have a stock 67 L79 convert. 0wned for many years. Car when bought in 1980 had Hollywood cherry bombs on car. After nasty exhaust leak and rattling of cherrybombs I replaced exhaust with stock N-11 system. Car runs silent as a mouse now. If there a way I can confirm N11 mufflers were sent instead of regular mufflers. I called corvette central and confirmed it was N11 but wanted to see if I can physically check baffles . I like the fact that exhaust does not rattle but I feel like the car sounds like a passenger car and not a sports car now.

You might be experiencing a dramatic sound difference. So much so that anything less then Cherry Bombs is basically quiet. You may have a version of being "tone deaf". Your ears are spoiled now. I don't know of any way to check baffles since they are internal and you would destroy the muffler finding out. Is there some kind of marking stamped in the metak case? What does CC say? Here is another way to check the sound, although it winter. With the roads clear have a friend drive the car and you listen at curb side. Dennis
I doubt there is any way to look down into the mufflers to check for the number of baffles; however, maybe you can tell from spot weld heat marks on the sides of the muffler cans?

So take them off and put a set of glass packs on. They are readily available. It doesn't matter if these are N11 or not, you don't like the sound.
Life is too short to drive a boring car.

When I put a Corvette Central N11 exhaust system on a 67 L36 Big Block we restored it sounded like a normal small block family car. Very disappointed. But, a much more comfortable driver (sound wise) than my current L79 side pipe roadster that you hear coming long before you see it...

I loved my 67 with side pipes , even if it was a small block with some goodies. Side pipes the way to go

I'll have to check, but the N11 I bought over the counter in 73ish, you could see the inlet looking into the outlet. They are presently in my storage unit while restoring the car. They came with the yellow paint stamp "for off-road use only". Memory is a dangerous thing though.
