Default Need picture of clutch rod boot plate for 1965

I'm doing some repairs on the firewall of my 1965. There was some damage to the fiberglass and the metal plate around the clutch rod. Part of it was missing. I'm repairing the fiberglass and have a new bracket to install. Does anyone have a good picture showing the orientation of the clutch rod boot plate on the firewall?
Thanks

I doubt GM changed the orientation, but my '67 has two screws vertical (2&4 o'clock) on the driver side and one screw (9 o'clock) on the passenger side. Dennis

If I remember correctly, there might be a difference. I have an early 1965 car that I think used 2 screws to hold the boot and it was later changed to three. Someone that knows more than me will hopefully chime in. I only have a piece of the bracket and it seems different than the one I ordered. I wonder if the plate was different for the early vs late 1965s?

That is correct.

Mine has the 2-hole style. The replacement boot doesn't stay in the mounting ring very well- probably why they changed it to the molded-in 3-hole style.

I don't recall when the changeover was, but you might want to start with figuring out which side of that change you are on.

a little hard to see. Jan64 car has two ear holder ring. Partly covered in goop. A buddy with an Apr65 car also has two ear holder. My Jun65 car has three ear holder.

My early '66 (10-29-65) has the 3 hole version. Guess it boils down to the B-day of your car.

a slight hijack..

but to show that i used a C2 boot to seal the clutch pushrod hole in my 62 rather than that POS 'whiskered' arrangement they used on the C1...

Thanks for all the replies and pictures. What I really need is the view of the firewall from inside the car. I need to see the orientation and rivet attachments for the clutch rod boot plate. Mine was damaged. What was left appears different than the part I ordered. I need to see a picture so I can attach it again to the firewall.
Thanks
Brian

Sorry eye doc.
tried to help.
I would rather go in to see the tooth doc for a root canal than crawl under my dash right now. Good luck,

Thanks Buns. That is getting me closer. The early 65 backing plate looks closer to what mine might be. I'm missing part of it. The other piece is what I got from Corvette Central. If I could get a photo of the inside of the firewall showing that early 65 backing plate, I'd be in good shape. Thanks for everyone's help. The AIM is not helpful.

Doc; if the blizzard gets me out of work tomorrow, I will try to get a pick of my late '65 three fastener clutch seal from the interior tomorrow. No promises, though, I'm old, creaky and cranky, and my garage is not heated. But I'll try.

Easy rhino,Thanks but I'm really looking for an early 65 or earlier. Buns picture showed me that there are two different backing plates. I have the 2 screw type and need to see how that plate attaches to the firewall.

Thanks
Brian

Are there any "witness marks" on the firewall to show where the rivets were? Photos above show where the screws go in, from the front side.

I have one rivet hole as a reference. I'm fabricating the piece because I haven't found a vendor that sells it. I don't see anything on eBay. I'm not sure of the screw hole orientation.
