Thanks for the C1 car of the month award
I appreciate the votes received for my '57 in receiving the award. I was honored and a bit surprised because all eight Corvettes were beautiful. Thanks also to our administrator for his part in running this contest.
For those interested, I thought I would give a little background on the car. I purchased it in Wisconsin in 1993 from a GM dealership. The previous owner had done some restoration but apparently lost interest and traded it in on a new Corvette. Somehow I got it home to Minnesota but there were many things wrong mechanically. Over the years I replaced the wrong and missing parts. I had the 4 speed rebuilt, replaced the radiator, clutch, exhaust system, rebuilt the carbs and put in new carpeting. The gauges were either not connected or incorrectly connected. I received a lot of good help from fellow Forum members like Frank and John Z as well as others.
I am currently battling cancer but my prognosis is good. I find that I am a bit limited when working on the Corvettes. I can do half as much in twice the time. Looking forward to Spring!

Outstanding car, I hope your health improves and come spring time you and all of us get to get our Corvettes out and drive them and have fun. I personally have owned many C1 and C2 cars and have not driven many of them because they were so nice and I did not want to put miles on them. Then someone wanted them more then I did and I sold them. Now that I am almost 65 and have an outstanding 67 low mileage Corvette I am going to be driving it starting this spring also, just like you. Enjoy abdo.

Well deserved indeed. We will keep good thoughts for your improved health. I was honored just to have my car chosen as one of the finalists - they were all outstanding.

Beautiful car and one of my favorites. It is absurd to see your 57 tied for third in the Corvette of the Year contest with a C4 in the lead. This is why I have little in common with most newer Corvette owners. It is akin to comparing the music of JS Bach to the Back street boys.

Congratulations and well deserved. You are doing very well in the Corvette of the year contest. My 65 is in next to last place. A C4 is leading the poll. The C4 group is mobilizing their ranks to vote. I'm rooting for your car.
Battling and beating cancer puts everything into perspective. Good luck with everything.

Absolutely beautiful. Congrats.
'57 Corvettes are special cars! See avatar.
May God be with you on your "C" journey. We are fighting the fight in our house as well. My wife got a 6 month prognosis on May 11, 2015. One of our couple friends from the San Diego area is coming up this weekend to take her and I out to dinner. We've been living "one day at a time" for coming up two years and don't plan on stopping for as long as we can.
Prayers for a complete recovery for you.

Thanks for the story of your '57, Art! I sure hope I get to meet you and see the car in person next summer. Your pictures look great, but there isn't a bad angle on a '56-'57.
Hopefully everyone here will vote for Abdo's car up in the "announcements" section: "You decide 2017 CF Corvette of the year".
Prayers for you Art, and for you Randy and your wife, for a full recovery and good health.

Absolutely, Capevettes. Your '65 is beautiful, and would be a worthy choice as well.
