Yes, I think member SBR owned one. I took pics of it at the MC&CN in Chicago a few years ago. It was stunning with the Goodyear Bluestreak tires.

How about it Steve, can you chime in and tell us about your car?

Thanks,
Rex

Sounds about right. He told me that's one car he wished he wouldn't have sold

With the engine combo the catalog anyway said the car is one of one. Fantastic in person. I was at the auction yesterday.

Gorgeous car but that's L-88 money there. And to think many folks were preaching doom and gloom, C2 values on the decline, all potential buyers already dead or dying...

I love that combination, but that's just not worth the $ to me. I'd rather buy a '67 which is not original, have it made into that, and still have way over a half million in my pocket after it was done.

I found this pic. I hope he doesn't mind me posting it here. I remember it was an absolutely stunning car. This was at the Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals in Chicago in 2006 or 2007.

Because somebody really wanted it. And it appears to have unquestionable provenance.

I would not use that sale as proof of a market trend.

A good investment for someone back in 2013

http://www.corvetteblogger.com/2013/...-indy-auction/

Greg Wyatt had a black/blue '67 in his store a few years back but, as I recall, it was a coupe.

Nowhere close to 1967 L88 money. If it was an L88 car, it would have been $3-4 million or more.

Not for one specific sale, but looking at ALL C1-2-3 Corvette selling prices in this auction, I would. May have to start a new topic on that.

I'm not questioning this car's provenance, simply asking a question:

Looking at the auction catalog photos showing the original gas tank and remnants of the tank sticker, there is very little of it left. The portion showing the paint code is there, but not the trim or even the L-71 option. Is there some other documentation I am missing?

Looks like the history actually is from a used buyer in 1967. No original owner, at least according to blurb on Mecom site.

Plenty of bright blue interiors running around, just paint it black.

That would be rare and very interesting. What color would the stinger be if the the interior was green?

I think the black/blue interior, blue stinger with the blue top in 67 is the most stunning Corvette made.

The stinger would be Goodwood Green I would think.

No. The stinger (according to Noland's book) would be white.
