After I posted that I was thinking that would have been to dark of a contrast. And white would have been my next choice. Just wonder if there is one out there some where.
What white with green interior. Would the stinger be black?

Saw several blk/blu 67 L71s back when they were new, maybe a half dozen, and that was just at random, so nothing terribly unusual. There are 6 accepted blk/red L71s, 4 coupes & 2 conv, only 3 having their original born-with motors. One is a fully documented Canadian car. I have never seen a blk/teal and would think it, and blk/green would be far and away the rarest color combinations.

How much hassle was involved in ordering an unusual color for the stinger? Simply specify what you wanted, or many hoops to jump through?
Although I would not choose it myself, I can see the appeal of black car and interior with yellow hood accent.

Exception Orders could be sent to the local Zone office and they might be accepted, or summarily rejected. Being accepted was no guarantee the plant making that model would go off the reservation and actually make the car. St. Louis was known to seldom if ever defer to special requests. On the other hand, we put through an Exception Order for a 1969 COPO Camaro the customer wanted in Olympic Gold/Midnight Green and were astonished when it came in on the truck.

Tripp paid $2,850 for the car, which was still equipped with its original 427/435 HP engine and Bright Blue interior. In the early 1980s, Tripp’s wife kept the car as part of the divorce settlement ....
Either she's laughing her as off over screwing him out of $775k, or he's laughing because she didn't hold on to it long enough to see the big bucks. Maybe both.

I have GM Canada Import microfiches on about two thrids of the 396 1967 Corvettes (counting both body styles) ordered by Canadian dealers, and I see a Black on 414 Blue L71 coupe, VIN 109xx. Also I see a black on red vinyl L71 (407) coupe; and a black on tan leather (421) L71 coupe.

Guys, I know quite a bit about this car. It's sale price is reflective of how special a car it is. Black cars are expensive and rare, as they were the lowest produced Vette in 67 (815 as we all know). Couple that with pipes, real motor, headrests, Bright blue int, etc etc etc and you have a very rare car. SBR's is a magnificent example as well, but as he himself has admitted, the pipes and wheels were added to his car. This is a real pipe car....Very special car and it will wonderfully situated in it's new home....New owner is the nicest guy you will ever talk to.....ARA

I judged that car at our Corvette show about 15 years ago. As far as I know the gentleman still has the car living quitely somewhere in Ventura Ca. The story I got was he bought it new...after many years of ownership he sold it and wished he had not. Took him a while but bought it back and still has it. The car was amazing to see and the combo looked very stunning in person.

There is in fact a 1967 Marlboro maroon/red interior 435 coupe which probably is indeed a 1 of 1. Not sure rare always equates to desirable.

I think the strangest color combination I've ever seen was yellow with green interior 65. Saw one at the Bloomington event way back in the 70's. Yes, it was an available combination. I guess St Louis made at least one.

The combo I am looking for, at least a pic of, is a Saddle Tan Ext, BLACK interior.... 63 or 64.
Saddle Cars always seem to have a Saddle interior.. or very rarely, white.

The engine stamp also looked good, from stamps that I've seen. Here it is right here. Posted by another CF member in OT cars and coffee thread. Why would he be telling everyone it's 1 of 1 if it's really not? Seems kind of lame.

Hi Rex, I just saw this thread. You are correct, that is the one car that I wish that I kept. Not a real BO wheel or side exhaust car but it does have the original engine and tank sticker. I am sure that Rick is very happy with it.
