thoughts on 66 Mosport coupe on Ebay
Greetings! nube here. I have followed this forum for some time. Great knowledge here. I am just asking what members think of the 66 Mosport green coupe in Ca. It is an auto, but is the color I have been looking for.
The car is currently on eBay. I do not know how to post the site here.
Thanks for any comments received. Happy New Year.

Highlight the address bar when you're looking at the ebay ad, right click, select copy, come back to your text, right click in the box and select paste.
Or you could copy the ebay item number and paste it or type it in here. A link would be preferred over a number.

The seller offered a very thorough and seemingly honest description of the car. Looks like a good one if you are looking for an automatic. Unusual that he still has all the smog gear too.

According to the trim tag it's a saint louis car, but the driver side door has A.O. Smith type rivets, look at photo 13 on ebay.
Trim tag is probably a repro since the codes and the description like "paint" are shifted and not on the same height as they should.
Also the engine pad looks a little weird.
Apart from that the car looks pretty good if the correct parts like valve covers and the other parts are included like the seller states

I really liked it until I saw the last photo showing all the black paint on the birdcage support around the tags. Would need a careful of the inspection of the birdcage before any judgement on value could be made. Just because it's a California car doesn't mean it's not rusty inside.

Seems like a good unmolested midyear coupe in good colors a better picture of the pad after some cleaning would be needed and pictures of the body when the paint was stripped if available. Price doesn't seem to high for the condition of the car.

Oceanside is right on the ocean....wonder how long it's been there? Always peeves me when the black plate is discarded to 'upgrade' to a flavor-of-the-month vanity plate. Happened to my '61 in the '70's. If rust free, this car looks like an excellent buy to me, and I love the color combo. Very classy.

I would add that the engine was rebuilt and the deck was cut and part of the engine pad was cut away by the machine as evidenced by the arc across the pad and part of the number three in the Vin stamp is gone.

I agree about the trim tag and AO Smith door. also the AA suffix on the interior code was not used with an automatic, another indication of a possible replacement trim tag.

In Nolan's book, trim code 430 notes to use Table 1. Table 1 shows that ECL AA can be used with M35 in a coupe. Perhaps you looked at Table 2?

That looks like a reproduction trim tag to me.....maybe done to show that rare color as having been "original".....

Maybe it's a Heinz but with green interior, if original it would have to be black or white or mosport car. That being said, if not rusty good buy around 42. Oh yea, Mosport not rare.

Isn't that a high VIN# for a Feb car???
