Godspeed, Noland.
We first met in 1978 when I was leading a wilderness expedition to Alaska and needed a ton of bug dope for a month’s stay in prime mosquito country. I called the Cutter company in the SF East Bay and Noland answered the phone. Corvettes got mentioned and we were off chatting up a storm; I was on about my fifth Sting Ray at that time. Shortly after that a free case of Cutter bug dope arrived at my office door. I saw him at events and we kept in touch. He was one of the gentlest, kindest people I’ve known, and the encyclopedic knowledge of early Corvettes he passed on to us is a deathless heritage.

Noland was the pioneer. He was a mentor to all of us.

Noland worked for me while I was Editor of Corvette Fever. His columns always came in on time and they never needed editing. He may have been my only columnist that was that good.

I have every book that Noland ever wrote. Those will never get sold. I may sell my cars - but not Noland's books.

It was a privilege to work with him and call him a friend.

Thank you Noland. It was a great ride.

Such a great loss to the hobby. God speed Noland

I sure hope JohnZ gets his health back, we need that wealth of knowledge even more now.

I never met the man, but one of the truest measures of his value to the hobby is the fact that we all know who he was, and at least a little bit of how much he contributed, and how deeply his loss will be felt. R.I.P., Noland Adams - and thank you.

Well that sure is bad news.
If CF decides to take a collection for a wreath at his funeral or maybe a donation in his honor to his favorite charity please count me in.

We finally met in 1979 after many phone visits. He organized the 1980 NCRS Convention meet in San Mateo, California. The Bob Paterson GRAND SPORT chassis was in the hotel lobby, and 1963 VIN #003 pilot line red fuel convertible was parked next to my 65 black / white FI coupe I had purchased from Gene Dressen. Rich Mason drove his 1959 big brake car from Carson City, NV. It had **** carpets in the trunk. Loren Lundberg from Phoenix, The Naber Brothers from Texas, and John Amgwert, Sam Fotz, Mike Philsbury and Gary Sunda and many others. We all met for the first time.

Thank you Noland. We have all had a great adventure thanks to you and other pioneers. RIP my friend.
