I have to show off my rebuilt WCFB.
This was how the WCFB looked about 2 years ago. This was basically the way it looked when I bought the car 30+ years ago.
It now has a choke. This is the first time it's had a choke since I've owned the car.
This is also the first time all of the screws on the top have been tightened since I bought the car. They used 3 helicoils in the rebuild.
The basic rebuild charge was $295. The choke assembly was $150.00. When everything was added up the grand total was $511.52. They have stopped doing NCRS restorations. I suspect the coloring got to be too much aggravation.
The shop I use here in Naples swears by these guys. They said they can simply bolt the rebuilt carb the car on and know that it will work.
Now I have too many carbs.
The owner of the shop here in Naples talked me into this. He hates Eldelbrocks. The tech that works on my car said "Why would we replace the Edlebrock when this car runs perfectly."
Oh well.
Daytona Parts Co. did all of the work here. A number of us have used them.

Ron and Tim at Daytona Parts do great work; they don't replate anymore since the EPA requirements got so stringent; they still do complete overhauls or just 'clean and kit' as the owner requests...
They have the best rebuild kits for the WCFBs...

I was wondering why they won't do NCRS restorations any more. Now I get it. EPA has really clamped down on a lot of the chemicals. Having worked in the industry prior to the EPA I understand why we need them.
Younger people won't believe some of the things we used to do. The Flint River didn't get that way all on it's own.

Tell me about it. The Navy Depot used to use gallons of liquid Freon to wash hydraulic fluid from fuselages/compartments. I crawled out from under an F-14 more than once dripping with the stuff from someone above cleaning the wing actuator area...
I wake up each morning surprised I haven't grown a second head...
BTW - here is Daytona Parts on site 'test mule' engine with my AFB on it being flow checked... They have all of the original microfiche engineering slides from the Carter company for WCFBs; I've browsed some of it myself...
