Which Front Springs?
I need to replace the front springs on my 65 roadster to correct the ride height. It was a base 327/4 spd car without AC or power steering. It now has after market AC. Should I go with HD springs or just replace with the standard springs?

I recently replaced the front springs on the '66 big block which had aftermarket a/c installed so I ordered with a/c springs from Zip. The ride height is fine. I know a lot of guys say reproduction springs ride too high, but I didn't have that problem with Zip's springs.
If I were you I would go with standard correct ride height springs for a/c car if you go with Zip.

If this is not an NCRS car, consider using springs from Vette Brakes and Products. They are thicker and shorter and will give the correct ride height. They are easier to install. Jerry

A vote for staying away from the standard GM 327 spring, part number #3851100. Purchase a set of them from Chevrolet in the 80s to put under the front of my BB car. I figured with no power accessories, aluminum heads and intake that it was probably lighter than some 327 cars and a good replacement for the incorrect, too tall springs in it. They looked fine at first but within 6 months on the road they had sagged down so far they were almost collapsed coil on coil.

I used vette products w air springs for my after market a/c . Ride height & ride quality perfect. As already stated when they are out of the car next to original they are shorter in height, scared me at first but worked great
