... my guess is that he burnt himself several times before he decided he needed 'kneehighs' if he was going to keep them...

ain't know way in God's green earth I would wear kneehighs in order to keep those sorry *** sidepipes....

but, different strokes for different folks...

I love my C5 seats. They are sooo much better than the original 67 seats. Of course I don't race it so the seat belt holds me in just fine.

The side pipes will be the first thing to go. I had those on a C3 and I loved the look.

After a while I just got tired of all the burns. You might think you'll be careful but . . . .

I still have the original rear panels with the exhaust ports from my Dad's '66. We have the side exhaust on (since '68) and don't foresee ever going back...

Let me take a look around the garage, and maybe we can work a deal...

Those pipes belong on a Cobra kit car IMO - lose 'em... Its not just your wife, I've seen owners with such pipes have to stand around until their car cooled off to keep spectators' kids from getting their hide picked...
I have the 4 inch pipes 7 i dont stand there protecting people . They should not touch the car. Sorry just my opinion i dont want to babysit
