Valve covers
I have a 1960 230HP base engine. I know they came with the stamped steel valve covers but were the finned aluminum covers an option on the base engine? My engine currently has the aluminum covers.
Thanks, Bud

GM must have sold millions of those valve covers. Almost every Corvette ended up them, no matter what engine the car was born with. And it wasn't just Corvettes that people put them on. They got put on just about anything with a small block Chevy in it; Chevelles, Novas, Impalas and hot rods too.
Not only were they good looking, but they were cheap too. I think I paid about $12 or $14 each for them, in the early 70's.
