I'm in! I've been dreaming of a Route 66 trip in the '61.. How about Amarillo, TX?? Pretty central!
(We will cause a spike in C1/C2 part sales getting our cars ready!)
On a serious note, I did a meetup with fellow Forum members WAAAY back 15 years ago when I first joined for forum, and my C5 was new. A group of us from SoCal met another group from NorCal and we toured Yosemite for a few days.. It was a FANTASTIC experience.

I know that the members here on the Corvette Forum C1 & C2 section live in different parts of the United States and the world. But wouldn't it be nice and fun if there was a way we could all come together for a weekend and meet each other face to face and everyone could drive there car and have a great Corvette Weekend good time. I know it would not work out with members living in FL. and CA and WA to Maine and everywhere in between. Plus members living out of the country I know there is no way they could all send there cars over plus we (you ones who still work or have jobs) could not all get away at the came time. But wouldn't it be cool? How many C1 & C2 members do you think there are total on the Forum. I hope you all enjoy your Corvettes this spring and summer and fall plus you all who live where you can pretty much drive them all your long enjoy them also. Would you come together if we could??

In keeping thing fair travel-wise think of the center of the US.
The geographic center of the USA is:
Its position as located in a 1918 survey is located at
39°50′N 98°35′W, in Kansas about 2.6 miles (4.2 km) northwest of the center of Lebanon, approximately 12 miles (19 km) south of the Kansas-Nebraska border
The geographic center of North America is in North Dakota which even for Canadian members would give an unfair advantage for them in keeping things fair travel-wise since 90% of the Canadian population lives within 100 miles of the US border.

Mid America Fun fest is about 2 hours more WEST then Indianapolis Bloomington Gold so it would help the members out west more so then Bloomington Gold would as far as driving. Every couple hours helps. I think it would be more far for everyone then Bloomington Gold in Indy is. It is up to you all.

For Corvette Fun fest this site would give you all the info you would need from registering to Hotels (and I may be able to book most of the Hotel I always stay in if we all decide to do this in Effingham for 2018) I would have to check to make sure and see how many rooms we would need. Just thinking out loud. With registering there is always a concert on Sat. evenings FREE if you have registered for the event and also there is a Chuck Wagon dinner on Sat evening before concert it is about $8.00 per person and worth it so you do not have to leave and eat and come back. There are also good food vendors on site.

The mid-point of route 66 is Adrian, TX.. I don't think this cafe will hold us all though: http://www.theroadwanderer.net/66Texas/midpoint.htm
Funfest is something I also have always wanted to do.. Open to that as well. Or Bowling Green, of course!

But what is in Lebanon KS. for us all to do? I am still thinking Bloomington Gold 2018 or NCM 2018 or Corvette Fun fest 2018 or even this year. They are doing the 50th for the 1967 Corvettes and my 67 will be there on display. They are doing one 67 of each color Coupe and Vert both. NOT much to do at NCM but there is at Bloomington Gold and at Fun Fest. What do you all think of those two places???

I understand that, but what Corvette events or event would the be going on in one of the cities in Kansas that would hold the interest of all the C1 and or C2 members who would attend?? That is why I think having this at a Corvette event would be the way to go. I think Corvette Fun fest at Mid America in Effingham IL. would be the best place to hold this meeting. It is about the 3rd week of September and would be a little more West then Indy at BG so what do you all say is Corvette Fun fest a good place to hold this get together?? If so do you want to try for this year or 2018??

Why do you need to attach it to another event? you are creating your own.

Bloomington Gold was held in Bloomington, IL originally to my knowledge.
Then it moved to Springfield, IL at the fair grounds.
Don't know why, probably $$$, but they moved it to Indianapolis, IN.
