I bought an 65 corvette that had been sitting for many years stuck tight. We put everything under the sun in the cylinders. Finall blew everything out. Put kroil in at 2 pm next morning a little grunt and it turned over with my long braker bar. Changed the oil started up ... Smoked for 5 minutes then cleared up and ran great! Love kroil!

Those suggesting the engine can be saved make a good point. Unless there is something drastically wrong with the block, everything else can be saved or replaced without compromising the provenance of the engine and car. You will most likely need to have some machining or reconditioning done in the rebuilding/restoring/blueprinting process. Whatever you have done, DO NOT let the machinist you deal with deck the block. It is highly unlikely that the deck surfaces are out of parallel far enough to make a difference anyway. If someone decks the block, the original stampings will be wiped out, making this just another engine. The 350 debuted in the 1967 Camaro SS and no other, and that engine is special to the car.

I have a GM bare block 2 bolt main large journal casting #3892657 with a 4" standard bore. Date code is L 15 6. The serial number is N157898 and the engine code is V I 2 I 6 M S. It has the vent tube in the intake valley. Can anyone identify the vehicle model this was installed in? Thanks.

Looks like 1967 Camaro L48 350/295hp. Block cast December 15th 1966, Assembled the next day, December 16th 1966.

The 1967 Camaro 350 engine is somewhat rare, and I think the Camaro restorers pay big $$ for genuine original blocks. So, if you have one of these blocks, you can probably get a good price for it. Note that the 3892657 raw casting was used in 1967 to make 327 engines for zillions of passenger cars and Corvettes. The only difference for the 350 Camaro version was that the same raw block casting was machined for large journals instead of small journals. That is the only difference.

Completely new, unrelated questions should be the subject of a new thread, please.
