They are different to drive. But the '61 is still an enjoyable car to drive compared to the '72.

The biggest difference is that the '61 gets WAY more attention - everywhere that I go .... stoplights, the gas station, car shows, the drive-in, etc .... so be prepared to spend a lot more time chatting with folks ....
Why is it always about attention, main reason you should like your Corvette is because it what you always wanted! No outside influences, that is what I like to say to OP!

Self satisfaction it should only be, who give a rats a$$ what others think, unless they are buying it! Be your own man!

Thanks. No, I am embarrassed to say that I have never connected the dots on the Route 66 color. I always thought the corvette was fawn or red. I now know it was never red. I was but a toddler when the show ended and don't recall ever seeing an episode - even in reruns. Might have to pick up season 1 DVDs.

Good thing it wasn't dukes of hazard or maybe there would be no jewel blues left (or any 61/62s!)

Officer Reed (Kent McCord) on Adam 12 drove a Jewel Blue '61 as his personal car.....faded paint and aftermarket wheels....still killer, IMO!

Very nostalgic looking! Your 62 Honduras Maroon with those mag wheels looks very similar of a Corvette that made cover of one of the magazines I read a few years back! Any connection to you?
