Most people would probably venetion red 56 and 57 wheels orange.

You might be right. Having spent my life in the car business this one just didn't seem right. Everything I researched didn't show orange as a color. I will take a picture tomorrow when the light is better, thanks for everyone's help.

The 56-57 Venetian Red really was more orange than red. When I had my 56 painted (as best as we could tell, it was originally Venetian Red), the Venetian red was just too orange for my taste, so we went with 69-70 Monza Red.

This is my 56 (with hardtop) next to a friend's Venetian Red 57.

Venetian Red should have been named Italian Orange. It isn't red.

I've noticed over the years that the early C1 red original wheels got bleached by the sun to an orange tone. Probably what you have there.....

Thanks for the post, after looking this over I agree it is Venetian Red.
I will post a picture but just wanted to say thanks again to everyone's help.
