Antenna

Antenna
Hello C2 aficionados,
I'm the second owner of a C2 1966 Corvette convertible that was a very basic dealer car. It has a 3 speed Muncie and it came to the dealer ex radio. The radio and antenna were installed by the dealer. Unfortunately, the dealer placed the antenna at the right rear of the trunk. I'm now in the process of updating the paint and I would like to relocate the antenna where it should be. Does anyone know the exact placement for it? Or possibly where I could find that information?
Thanks,
Frank

Would one of these cars that were non-radio have the bracket for the antenna/motor? Is it possible that the dealership installed a non factory antenna? If you are not going to go to the original radio setup you are probably OK. But if going to the factory setup, it may take some work and parts locating. Just a thought.

Welcome to the Forum.
66's with a radio, came with a power antenna mounted in the left rear fender.
Below are the antenna installation pages from the 65 Assembly Manual, but the antenna and it's installation are the same for 66. The quality of the copy isn't real good, so it's not possible to make out all of them, but the positioning of the ground plate is pretty clear, which should be enough to properly locate the antenna.
