Thanks for sharing! My dad was an instructor pilot for B29s during the war. He had a lot of great tales about those birds.

True story
My ex-wife was helping do a documentary on the WASP's a number of years ago back in Florida. I met several of them. One of the girls told me she flew a B-29 from the US out to Guam with General Doolittle. The pilots in Guam didn't like the plane and would ground it or turn back after takeoff for some reason. Doolittle talked to them trying to empress the importance of those bombing missions. He didn't get very far. The next day the General and the two WASP's pilots got ready to leave. The pilot's walked out to the flight line to say good bye. One asked if the General was piloting the B-29? He said no way he was sleeping. The two little lady's flew it out from the mainland and they where flying it back!!! Those big pilots looked at those little ladies and decided maybe the B-29 wasn't so bad after all!!

Roger Walling,
We used to fly C-141's on aerial re-supply missions (airdrops) to remote bases in the Artic. On the way back to Thule Airbase in Greenland we would purposely overfly the "KeeBird" as it sat on the frozen lake. That video made me and my son cry the first time we saw it. What a shame what happened to that plane, and all because of carelessness and rushing

Well, our A26 project can't compete with a B29, so I'll just stay out of this one.
