15x8 wheels will they fit a 65
I am selling 15x8 rally wheels and the guy really wants them. But he is saying the will hit the arms on a 65. Will they. I can't see it happening because they came off of a 72 and it is basically the same frame.

They cleared the control arms and the fenders. On the lift with the rear wheels at full droop, the stock spring would just touch the left rear rim. On the ground there was 3/4" clearance at least.
Good luck... GUSTO

I think the 15x8 were for 68-82. There might be some fitment issues. Could leave it up to him though. Is he local? Sell them and give him a week and if they don't fit, you'll give his money back. No harm, no foul.
Just be clear that if he has to mount/dismount tires, any damage is on him.

Here is a picture on my '67 that a prior owner gave me that was taken when the car had 15x8 rally wheels on it. I know for a fact that they rubbed in the rear as there is a 2" crack in the fiberglass over the right rear wheel to prove it. They have since been changed over to the correct 15x6 wheels.

15x8s are too wide for my 62, it moves the tire outward and the sidewall will hit the inner fender lip; had to use airshocks to lift the rear. I now use 15x7s, no problem..
I suspect the same will be true on a C2

Watch out with some of these guys because a 7 inch rim is actual 8 inches wide physically! An 8 inch is 9 inches wide because of the lips! No an 8 inch rim in size, not measurement will not fit stock!
Many guys fit 7 inch sized with creativity and care in fitting with the tire size selected!

Tires are the key
I had a '66 with 15 x 7 Rallys and the tires rubbed the e-brake cable and would sometimes rub the fender lip on the rear when turning - it had 1/8 inch spacers on the rear to center the tire in the wheel well. The tires were too big.
I move the brake cable to the top of the Arm and put 205/75 R 15 tires on the 7 inch rallys.
No rub after that.
I would not put 8 inch rims on a c2

Advanced
I had a 64 that had F70/15 tires on it when I bought and it was so close it scared me. I put E70/15's on it and it was fine except for the steering effort when parking. (no power assisted steering) Forgot to mention it had 1968 rally wheels on it!

I ran 8in. ralley's off a 69 for years on my 66, never had a suspension interference problem. I DID have major flared wheel wells though.

Bill, the original poster was inquiring about hitting the mechanical structures of the suspension, not the body......and that's what I answered.....
