'60 Corvette Restomod Stolen, Stripped and Burned
Just saw the following news item(s) regarding the theft of a 1960 Corvette restomod that was bound for the Detroit Autorama. I did a search here "Autorama" and was surprised to see there was no discussion on the forum of the theft so I am assuming it is "news" here and am posting the details.
The theft included a customized 1994 Ford F350 turbo diesel tow vehicle, a customized 42 foot aluminum trailer that once belonged to Tony Stewart and the contents, which included the '60 Corvette, a Jeep Cherokee, plus tools and equipment. All in valued at somewhere between $250-300K. The remains of the car were found cut into three pieces and burned. The truck was also burned and trailer badly damaged and abandoned. The Jeep was recovered minus it's radio.
Because this was a restomod, most of the original drive train parts would already be long gone. However, I am sure some stuff will still show up for sale and could possibly lead to the culprits. It's a shame the body was destroyed. The car also had a hardtop, which I presume was also destroyed. No word on the interior, instruments, etc. These thieves were downright mean!

If you spent more time on this forum, you would have read about it a couple weeks ago back when it first happened!
