In early 70s I had a Corvair Spyder which had the wire caps. I had 8" Rally wheels on the Corvette and found that the wire centers could be fit inside of the 8" rally rings. I then put on Corvette spinners which looked the same as the Corvair spinners except that the lettering on the Corvair spinners said Chevrolet. I think it looked pretty good and I ran them for years. Got a lot of puzzled looks and questions too.

I had to raise the rear to run 8" rallys and TAs, it looks like you had to also..

Yep, it's me.

I was probably in the 22-26 year old range when those photos were taken, still living in the Pittsburgh, PA area.

They look like ET Wire X wheels. I had them on a 71 Ranchero and later used them on a 75 Charger.

WMF62;
The picture is priceless. Towing in style, super stock Plymouth to beat down the strip. Can't think of a better combination. That should be framed, 18 x 24 in the man cave.

A guy I knew back in the '70s had a green '71 or '72 Chevelle. 350 engine, four-speed, bench seat. A somewhat unusual car. He was running chrome reverse wheels, with what he said were called "mini-mags" in the center. I've done some web searching, e-bay, etc, a few times, trying to find even a photo of these mini-mags, but have always come up empty.

Does anybody remember these? It was a cool look, and I've never seen another set anywhere. I'd be happy just to even see a photo of them today.

Live well,

SJW

After digging for a while I finally found an old Polaroid picture of the 71 Ranchero with ET Wire X wheels. I blacked out the centers myself. The only Ford I ever owned and kept it for 26 years.

The first new car I ever owned was a '74 GT. 351C HO and it got terrible gas mileage... at the worst possible time! But it could haul the mail!

Owned it for 15 years and traded it for a '73 Corvette Convertible that I still have.

Good luck... GUSTO

Can you tell me what page under parts you found these wheels for sale. I looked through several pages and did not see them.

Thanks

No..............it was in the parking lot of Garrard County High school in Lancaster where I grew up. The photo is looking across the high school football field at the elementary school.
