My new 1954 Corvette...
After two long years I drove my '54 Vette home from the restorers Wednesday and Thursday. Yesterday I mounted Dayton knock off wire wheels with 205R15 Firestone red line tires, and now I consider my Corvette complete. The car is pretty much stock except for rack & pinion steering, wheels & tires, electronic ignition, and alternator. I don't mind saying I am proud of the result. Here she is...

I'm speechless and really happy for you. It's beautiful and I'll bet a day did not go by in the last two years that she did not go thru your mind. Congrats on getting her home.

Me personally I like the wide white walls and the correct hubcaps better but we are all different and have different taste. It being your car you can do to it what you wish. I have owned about 7 of the 54 Corvettes they are all cool. Enjoy your car and have fun driving it.

Except for some paint dings the car was pretty much as you see it. The chrome, paint, and interior were really nice on this car when I bought it. The previous owner did provide photo documentation of the work done on the car, and it was a mess. Maybe I could scan one of them and show a before and after comparison.

I have great respect for anyone who attempts to bring a 53-55 back to life. Original parts needed for my '54 seem to cost 5 to 10 times more (if you can find them) that the same parts for my '62.
