C2 of Year Finalist (performance mods) 2019
I was 23 when I purchased my 1967 Corvette (in 1986 or 1987). I had my first real job out of college and wanted a new car. I didn't like the other new cars out there at the time (but I kick myself for not getting a GNX because it wasn't a stick) and ended up with the Corvette instead.

I was 18, just graduated from high school and bought a 63 roadster. That started a long string of Corvettes over the last 41 years. Only a very short time period during college when I was without a Corvette, but that didn't last long. Lots of fun, building, driving, buying, selling, but the part I love the most is the chase, trying to find the ones that are hiding somewhere.
Missed out on a couple of very significant cars back in the days, didn't really know what they were at the time, but certainly know now. One was a 56 SR2, and the other was a Bill Mitchell factory car. Oh well, if we only knew.

I was 22, three months out of college. bought a 1984 light blue metallic right off the car carrier(after a very aggressive test drive) in august 1984. I still have it ( the 1 st born !!) right next to a 67 convertible I bought a few years ago. the 84 has over 30 years of memories.

In 1976 I bought a '65 roadster with 396. Sounds great but in 1976 it was the cheapest Corvette available in the Boston area.
$2500. I was 20.

Mid life crisis after the 84 Z/28 H.O. and a 88 IROC Z. I purchased my first Corvette, a three year old 1990 Coupe at 40. One year later it was traded in on a new 94 Coupe. Added a 58 to the family at 45. Then after the bugs were worked out of the new 2001 Z06's, I added a 2002 Z06 to the family.

I was a freshly minted fighter pilot in 1968 and everyone in my squadron had a Corvette. I bought a 68 conv with a 327 350 hp. That car almost turned me off on Corvettes. It would give a lemon a bad name. After a two year break I decided to try again and bought my current 67 427. Needless to say the experience was a lot better the second time.

I was later to the Corvette world than a lot on here. I bought a new 2001 coupe when I was 40.
My first car was a 1966 Mustang that I bought in 1980 at the age of 19.

I was 21 and a senior in college in 1972 and bought a project 68 roadster for $1200. Replaced the front clip for my senior project. Sold it later that year for $2500.

I purchased my first (a 340 hp '62) in 1965 at age 18 and wish I would have kept that car. In 1968 I purchased my third Corvette (a '66 coupe) that I've owned ever since. Over the years there have been other Corvettes that have come and gone (my wife has a '13 427) but my '66 has been the car that I've kept in the garage for the last 49 years.

I was 26 and a year out of College. I had a new company car for daily drives and pocket money from my last summer working as a Journeyman, money that I had saved if I needed another year to graduate. Friends were buying new Camaros and Mustangs, and I went looking for something more interesting. My search ended up with a choice between a red 63' NOM powerglide split-window, or a black numbers matching 63' 340hp 4-speed/4.11 roadster. They both ran like s#it, as the lot did not know how to tune an engine. After a backfiring test drive in the 340hp, when the car was idling, the salesman ran into the lot garage complaining to the mechanic that he could still hear the lifters and that they were still too lose. I cut a deal and took the 340hp home. After a proper valve lash and recurve of the distributor, the car would track back to back 14 second flat ET's, and no hitching or backfire. I still have the car, 30-odd years later.

I think I was about 10. I had some money from my birthday and bought this 1965 Corvette convertible that came with the soft top and the hard top and a couple of hoods (no big block hoods) and an extra set of wheels.
