Default Rear snubber mount alterations for a 64 disc brake conversion.

Looking for anyone that may have pics of what they did/or where they cut their rear snubber bracket on a 63 or 64 for a disc brake conversion ? Not sure if mine can just be modified or do i need to cut mine off and replace with the 65-67 brackets? Thank you in advance!

If doing a disc brake conversion using factory parts, I know of no reason you'd need to modify the rear snubber cushion or bracket. The cushion and the bracket were the same from 63-67. Unless you are talking about the rear trailing arm cushion on the frame.. I've posted a picture of the snubber cushion and bracket below.

If you are using aftermarket parts then I'm a bit perplexed as to why the snubber/bracket would need to be changed.

I think you mean rear bump stop brackets.

Then mount the 65-67 rubber stops.

Thank you Saddletan! Exactly what I was looking for. So the 65-67 rubber stops will bolt right in to the remaining portion of the old bracket once its cut flush to the frame rail?

I did this on my '63 as well. The bolt on the new repro rubber was too short to go thru both upper and lower pieces of the metal mount so I removed the lower portion of the mount as well. I do not see what purpose it serves. That worked for me.

I cut the snubber mounts flush with the outer side of the frame. Then I mounted the 63 rubber snubbers, turning them around as the mounting stud was offset. Worked out fine.

I had already purchased the later style rubber part!
