Default Judging of floor mats?

So mid years came with no floor mats from the factory?

That is correct...............they were a dealer installed option.

Funny story (or maybe not). When I had my new '67 L79 coupe, a friend of mine gave me a pair of floor mats for the car for a Christmas present. I was really disappointed because they were clear plastic! Back in those days, floor mats were BLACK. I never used them, and they were ultimately thrown away. Boy, I wish I had them now!

The "original" mats were much thicker than the repops. I have a few sets. They also have part numbers on the bottom sides in the middle. From memory they are 1713 and 1714. Also, the edges of the originals were 90 degree cut, whereas the repops are rounded. The originals kinda "make the look" of the car, but as stated above are not a judged item. Regards
