The only whitewalls I could find in the equivalent size to 7.75x15.

:iagree:
I have the 205 Kellys on my 67 with Rallyes. Again for the whitewall. I dream of a high performance whitewall tire.

Michelin Pilot 225/60/15 mounted to TTDII customs 7 x 15. There isn't any back spacer with the custom rims. I do get a little rub on the front wheels when I turn all the way right or left. Next set will be 215/65/15.

Re: C2 Wheel and Tire Survey (six-T-six)
I used to have 205/75 on stock rallye wheels on my '67. Fit was fine and I did not drive this car as hard I do now...
I also had 235/60 V rated BFG Comp TAs on repro Knock Off's on my '66. Fit was almost perfect, with the only issue being with the front wheels having a slight rub at full lock that polished my frame a bit. They were pretty good, but did not fill the wheelwell as well as I wanted, and the performance tire options for 15" tires was (and is still) poor.
Here's a picture from back then:

I now have 245/45 (old) BFG R1 tires on 16x8 Vintage Wheel Works (looks like the old Torque Thrust with cast, not polished centers) V45 wheels that have a neutral offset (4 1/2" backspace). http://vintagewheelworks.com/v45.html
These made a huge difference in handling with the great contact patch and sticky rubber. They don't fill the wheelwell as well as I'd like, and they have a bit more rub in the front than the previous tires had. I'm still quite happy with my choice, as the 17" version was not made back then. Today, I'd have to check fitment, but I would tend toward the 17x8 version, at least for the rear. Front might have to stay where it is for my width tire.
Here's a shot of the car with these wheels:

15 x 7 American Eagle #211 (similar to TTII's) with 4" backspace, 215-65-15 front tires, 225-70-15's rear, no rub or interference anywhere on my '65

Re: C2 Wheel and Tire Survey (six-T-six)
I followed in Brad's footsteps. I use 245-50-16's on Vintage Wheel Works Vintage 48's. These are 16x8 wheels with zero offset. (The Vintage 48's are mini-lite look-a-likes.) I've had to move the parking brake bracket from the side to the top of the trailing arm and trim the inner lip on the rear. But I autocross the car and tire size is king. Next up will probably be a set of Kumho Victoracers at 245-45-16. This tire, unfortunately, is getting small, but that's the best fit they have.

Re: C2 Wheel and Tire Survey (six-T-six)
Ralley wheels with white walls on a red roadster.
I chose the Firestone FR440 because it was about as close to a correct whitewall as I could find and it has a clean looking sidewall to boot. Too bad its the usual mud and snow tread. But then I don't flog the girl too much anymore.

TTII's Front: 17x7 wheel 245/50 17 nitto tire
Rear: 17x8 wheel 265/50 17 nitto tire
No alteration to body or frame. Tight, but they fit.

Let me search around. I have had pics up before, but I need to locate them again. If I can find them I'll email them to you. My email is: verbois427@hotmail.com

215/70/15 Michelin MXV4's on 15x7" wheels with 4" backspacing all the way around. Everything fits real well with no rubbing on the frame or the fenders.
