Default Help identifying Engine

I need help identifying the engine, and heads of my 67. When I purchased the car the previous owner was not sure of what type of engine it was, we know is a big block ( that is obvious) but not the type, strangely enough the car’s vin number is stamped on the front right deck of the engine. Here are the number stamped on the back of the block, Drivers side 3999289, CM10, pass side 1572. This are the numbers on the head, I found this numbers after removing the valve covers H2472, GM7T, 853049 (the other head has H2872, GM8T), Thanks in advance.

The VIN has been re-stamped; the block is a '72 454, and the heads (353049)are oval ports, off an early '73 454. What's the other stamped code on the block pad - right below the plug in the front of the head?

Boomer, I got all exited when I found the vin number. Oh well, I guess now I can modify her without feeling guilty:D.... John, the other number on the front pad is as follow T0913?W?. The firs ? could be a 0, 8 or 9 (a rounded top digit) and the last ? could be an H, M, ( a two pointed top digit)

"CWM" was a Corvette 454, and "CWW" was a passenger car 454.

Thank you John, this helps a lot, and opens my options up, this engine is pretty much in need of a rebuild, it has over 15% compression loss, via the rings. So is rebuild, crate, or pickup a use newer 454. Either way a good summer project..............
