Default 1965 Corvette Intake Manifold Gasket

There are 12-bolts that attach the intake manifold. The 4-bolts directly under the carb that help attaches the intake manifold has burning paint around the area. Dose this mean that I have a leak in the manifold? If so can I go to NAPA and get a good gasket? Also is it a tuff job to replace this gasket?

No I think it means the exhaust cross over is working, not plugged.

So I don't need to replace this gasket?

No, unless you have a leak and you can hear that. Hot exhaust from one of the two inboard cylinders crosses in the intake through the base of the manifold a heats the base of the carb. It will almost always burn the paint away.

Yep, that's right. If you don't want to have burned paint on your manifold, then before assembling the manifold to the heads, block the crossover openings in the manifold gaskets. It will cause the motor (sorry, engine for you purists) to take a little longer to warm up, but the paint won't get burned and look ugly.

Thanks for the info. I almost bought a new gasket and was getting ready to replace it.
