T-10 1960/1961 For Sale
Late 1960, early 1961 Corvette Transmissions. Stamp pad of "WF1003" - June 10, 1960
All components are from the same transmission which came out of a 1960 Corvette.
T10-1B Cast Iron Main Case – “5-27” (cast 5/27/60)
T10-1B Aluminum Tail – “5-23-60” (cast 5/23/60)
Aluminum Main Case Side Cover – “3-4-60” (cast 3/4/60)
This transmission as been professionally rebuilt by a Bloomington Gold 1997 Transmission Workshop Instructor and member of NCRS (#16436) since 1990.
Per the NCRS judging manual and discussions with fellow NCRS members, for a 1960 Corvette this would be ideal for a car assembled from June 24, 1960 to the end of the 1960 production run in August. For a 1961 Corvette it would also be acceptable through VIN 2400 (11/3/61 assembly date) when GM changed to the aluminum main case.
The build date is WF1003 which is as follows: the "W" identifies the transmission as a Borg Warner, "F" indicates the month built which was June, the "10" indicates the day of the month it was built, and the last "0" is the year - 1960. The "3" indicates the transmission was built on the 3rd shift.
This is a close ratio 220 first gear transmission. It has a nice straight main shaft and the internals are either new parts or "like new". This transmission has all the correct bolts.
The case and tailstock have no welds, no repairs and no stripped threads
