What's the visible difference between yours and repros sold by, . . . say . . . , Eckler's ?
I think that Paragon is the company that bought the GM molds, so most, if not all reproduction covers are made by them and are sold through all major vendors.
The molds had cracked during the '66 production run, which resulted in the "casting flaw" through the "O" in the Corvette script.
I believe that Paragon has developed a method of "removing" the casting flaw, but it is also my understanding that the finish on these covers is different from the originals and is detectable by NCRS judges.
Mine are the original pieces that were cast before the "flaw" occurred in mid '66.
Others may have more/better information on the reproduction vrs. original covers.
George at $150 I might be interested if still available straight across holes. How would you want to be paid. Please email picture of cover you would be offering.
Hi George, I would like to know if you still have a set of these covers left? I need em for a 63. Could you possibly send a better picture of a set and a price. thanks Barry thevetteworks@msn.com
