Default F/s 56-60 new hardtop rear weatherstrip

I am in the process of restoring my 59 hardtop and got a quantity deal on a few new rear window weatherstrips. These are the good ones that "The big hardtop place" sells for $220. Anyone on the forum who wants one, $165 with shipping included to the lower 48. I wanted to share this so we can all save a few bucks. PM me if you want one. These do not have the center hump for 61-62.

Here it is installed on my Hardtop, so I can say first hand the fit and quality is excellent.

Default Side Window photo of Weatherstrip

Here is a photo showing the side window installation just completed. Fit was excellent.

Will post more photos of the progress as they occur.

I think all but 2 of these weatherstrips are spoken for now, pending payment.

Default Rear Window Installed

Here's how it looks with the rear window installed. This is my original window (polished) and already had the holes drilled in it for the center hold down, but the fit was so good they lined up perfectly with the new weatherstrip.

Hi Dan, what's the material for the rear window ,and how did you polish it?
Also, any advice on where to buy the side windows and the rest of the weatherstripping ?
Thanks
Gary

Default For 61 -62 tops

61-62 in reply,

"If you have your original weatherstrip, you can splice the hump section from you original weatherstrip into the new 56-60 weatherstrip." That's what I have read, should work but never actually did one myself.

Default Outer Moldings Installed

For those of you following along on the progress of this top, here is the latest photo with the restored and polished outer reveal moldings installed:

I still have to add the corner and center clips but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Still got a couple of these excellent rear window weatherstrips available. If anyone wants one, this is what your final assembly will look like.

Default Still 2 left at the OLD PRICE

Still got 2 left at the OLD PRICE. There was a price increase on these and I can't get anymore at this price going forward, so this is it. If you are planning a Hardtop resto, you may want to get one and save it for when you are ready.
