Default F/S Tri-Power Air Cleaner “FP” bolts

“Real Deal” set of “FP” bolts.

These bolts are used to attach the 1967 Tri-Power Air Cleaner base to the carburetors.

Both NCRS & Bloomington Gold judge these bolts.

$600.00

Notice the configuration: Indented hex-head with “FP” font; ¾ inches; not threaded to head; dimple end with beveled edge.

Some Corvette Enthusiasts choose to have their Corvettes judged at NCRS or Bloomington. Both of these judging venues instruct the owner to remove the air cleaner for judging the top end of the engine. As part of that judging process the bolts that hold the air cleaner to the carburetors on 1967 Tri-power car are examined for originality. Appropriate deductions are made for incorrectly configured bolts. Correctly configured "FP" Bolts are pictured above.

as ncrs member I understand correct parts, but having been around hobby since 1970 my opinion is to many people are overpricing for the sake of a buck. how can the hobby grow if people take advantage of people seeking to have car as factory. sorry to offend but my opinion.......good luck on sale and happy for you and buyer if you make a sale.

I suppose one could take the view of blaming others for increasing prices, but one wonders how NCRS has contributed to this inflation itself.

A fair price is what the market will bear, with the seller and buyer agreeing to that price.

$100 bolts are amazing, though. That said, if my six-figure C2 was $500 from being perfect, I suppose I would spring for it. But then again, it's not a problem I'm dealing with.

I need those bolts but not at that price. The points deducted do not justify anything close to that price. Most guys I know that have them only install them on the show field because they do not want to ever risk them coming loose and out and falling down a carb.

Agree - I am just making these available. Obviously those that are being critical have no idea what time, talent and cost is involved in recreating a correct part.

So are these repos or original?

I fail to see how your post promotes this fellows sale but I think you can thank your friends at the ncrs, they are the ones who place all the emphasis on "factory correct"

Lower price = more sales volume = more profit.

I need a set but not for $200 a bolt.

What? There are two (2) of these used on a 1967 tripower car, one on the front carb-to-air-cleaner and one on the rear carb-to-air-cleaner. Center carb uses a stud. So a SET for a 1967 Corvette would require two (2) of these, not 4. So does this mean you are selling a (modified?) SET of two (2) of these for $200, since 4 are for $400? Meaning $100 apiece? Still ridiculous price but getting better if $100 each

This post started in 2012 and someone resurrected it. I hate to see forum members beating up another member on something he advertises. Plus there are rules against this.

The rules in part say this:

1. If you post a criticism of the price or the quality of the item being offered, you will be in violation of Forum rules and subject to sanctions.

2. If your contribution to a for sale thread does not advance the sale, you are in the way.

Go here to read more.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...eir-parts.html

Bottom line is this:
The part is his and his price is what it will take for him to part with it. So buy it, negotiate for it or let it drop and show respect.

Wow this is why I would not advertise parts here!!! Just to let some who don't know how hard it is to find these bolts. I have well over a million...yes I said 1 with 6 zeros pieces of original GM hardware from the 60's. I have bought hundreds of 5 gallon buckets full of bolts and even several 55 gallon drums full from old corvette shops and I have only come across 1 yes 1 original FP bolt and it sold in less than 10 mins for over 5 times the asking price here...and I have a waiting list of buyers. So someone making this effort to do this is pretty cool.

I checked my 69 L71 car that's sitting in the shop all covered up and waiting for some attention. Air cleaner just sitting on carbs no bolts, Very sad :-(
