Default WANTED: Two '53 - '57 grill teeth: #424 and #429

I'd like to buy two used grill teeth for a 1953 through 1957 Corvette.

One has a part number ending in "424". It's the center tooth in a 1953 though 1960 grill. The other one I need has a part number ending in "429". It's the end tooth in a 1953 through 1957 grill.

These teeth can have some pimples and minor scratches as long as they're not too beat up to match my others.

Incidentally, I have an extra used #427 and #428 to trade if you're interested in that.

Thanks,

Jerry Bramlett

Default Fuelie Dave, where are you?

Surely you have some old teeth laying around.

I'll buy the '53 - '60 center (#424) tooth you found.

Now if someone would just sell me a '53 - '57 end (#429) tooth, I will stop pestering everyone about this.

I have some extra teeth but can't see any numbers on them. Where would I look for the #429?

It's hard to see, but the entire part number is cast into the back side down deep in the "crease". You'll probably have to use a flashlight and look hard. The numbers are small.

I think I have a #429 but it is hard to read. It measures 6 3/8" tip to tip. Does this sound right?

Yes, it does.

I measured one #429 here and got 6 1/4" tip-to-tip at the rear face. The tooth next to it, a #428, measured 7".

On closer inspection with a magnifing glass, it is a #429. It has pimples but no cracks and is otherwise in good shape. If you will send me your shipping address to jenovak@msn.com, I will send it to you and you can just reimburse me for the shipping.

I sent you a check on Monday, 9/15. If my payment hasn't arrived by now, please let me know.

Thanks,

Jerry
