Default Erick Freeman Steering Wheel wanted

I turn 50 this January and my wife wanted to get me a Freeman teak wood steering wheel for my 65 vette. Erick Freeman made a high quality teak wood steering wheel reproduction. I just found out that Freeman stopped making the steering wheel and basically no one sells them.

Does anyone have one they never used for sale - or direct me on where I may be able to locate an unused one??

Can't afford an original.

Terry

Have you called Eric? I spoke with him 2 months ago and he told me he that although he moved away from vending at shows he will still take orders. It took 2 weeks for him to return my call so be patient.

There is a fellow here in Ontario Canada that makes Teak wheels that are NCRS accepted. I have seen his work and must say he is very good. I can look up his number if you are interested. He wants the current stock wheel frame and will replace it with a completed Teak wheel. The cost of the wheel would probably be higher if you do not exchange a wheel frame.

NCRS accepted? All wheels are excepted. That does not mean that they judge as originals without deductions. His wheels are no exception to that.

Doug, did a Teak wheel for me about 10 years ago, excellent work. Have had many positive comments over the years regarding the beauty of this wheel.
I'm not an NCRS member, but I understand from a friend that is an NCRS judge here in Ontario that he and the judges he has worked with really appriciate the quality and workmanship of the wheels that they have seen created by Doug's Teakmaster steering wheel repro's.

Freeman wheels look sweet, super nice but are easy to tell they are not original.

I bought one this summer for my 66, it's beautiful and well worth the short wait. I called ham a few days later he returned the call as he was traveling. ordered the wheel and less than a week it was mounted in my car...sweet...compared to the simulated wood one...ich! good luck you will be very happy with it. Here's his contact info.

I guess I would like to know the difference. It has been explained here before, but I am still a little confused. Could someone post a pix. of an original and a Freeman wheel side by each and show the differences??
Thank you

You're right, I got them mixed up. '67 has the uneven mounting surface due to the overlap of the 6 o'clock spoke. I have two '67s, I should know that!
