This came out of a 57 that was dormant for 40 years. Nothing was wrong with the motor--the car was parked when he started driving his 70 everyday. It is cast dated January 18,1962, and assembled on January 19, 1962 (F0II9RB) as you can kinda see by the pictures. It mic'd out to STANDARD bore (4.000). There is little to no ridge at the top. I pulled the timing cover and the chain and gears were like new--this is a good engine. It turns over easily. I would go through it and do rings and bearings if I were you, just to make sure, but it doesn't need a major overbore. Just a freshening up. Still had the steel head gaskets on it.
I'd prefer not to have to ship it (I'm an hour and a quarter north of Chicago's O'Hare, but can wrap in plastic and bolt to a pallet and get to a shipper if you make the arrangements. $900 obo
