Default 1965 hood for sale

One year only and hard to find 65 small block hood in very good undamaged condition. It is in primer and ready for final prep and paint. It was originally a Nassau blue hood. $800.00 plus shipping. I have used greyhound bus for shipping hoods in the past with good success.

* Note this is a real 65 hood and not a 66/67 with the underside holes filled in.

Please call me with any questions.

Didn't realize there was a difference. Can you elaborate a little more?

65 hoods are the only hoods in the grouping of 65 to 67 hoods that do not have the Corvette emblem located on the driver's side corner nor do they have the access holes on the underside to attach the speed nuts that hold the emblem on. The 66 and 67 hoods both have the underside access holes even though the emblem was discontinued for 67 use. 65 hoods are the hardest hood to find out of the three year run of that specific hood. Also the GM replacement over the counter hood was the 66 to 67 style so many 65 cars that have been wrecked in the front end over the years have the wrong hood on them now. I am sure that somebody out there could use this very nice original hard to find hood. I hope that this explanation helps.

Great Bob there is always something to learn about these cars. I am sure that a lot of 65 owners are driving their cars around with wrong hoods and do not even know it.

If you are a 65 small block owner maybe you should check your hood and see if it is a real 65. I have seen so many 65's with wrong hoods that I am sure that someone would like to put a correct hood back on there car. These hoods are very scarce and this is a great original hood.

I would like to see this hood go to a very nice car. I will consider a reasonable offer.

Let me know if you would like to come by and take a look if you do not have your correct hood.

Yes I will try and take a couple of pictures and post them however if you are not familiar with the difference between the 65 versus 66/67 style hood you might not see the actual difference in the pictures. You might just think that they are all the same which thet are not.
