Default 1957 corvette defroster box

Hi, Does anyone have a 1957 defroster box for sale. Do you know if anyone is still making the metal reproductions. And finally will a 1959 defroster box work in my 1957. Any info will be appreciated.

Hey Moleyman,

Not quite sure what the differences are but the 1956-57 defroster box is different than the 1958-62 box.

Default Metal defroster box

I think the metal repros for the 58-62 will fit on the heater core housing as I have a complete heater assembly I was going to put in my 59 restomod. Too much trouble and old technology. Pressboard ducting? Seriously?
If you want originality you will have to go to Dr. Rebuild and pay $175.00
I will sell you my brand new metal 58-62 defroster box for 50 bucks plus $5 shipping. I went with an aftermarket heater.

Thanks for the input, I am not building for originality, so I might use the 59 defroster box I have.
