You could post this in the ORPHAN VIN stamped parts thread, in the Sticky section at the top of the main (General) C1/2 page. Thats where we try to match engines, etc with VINs with the original cars.

This 64 convertible is listed as being registered in the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System. Might be worth paying the $4.95 fee to see what state the car is located / registered in. You might be able to locate the owner of the car.

Go to this site and put in the VIN 40867S113953.

Google Corvette clubs in PA, and contact them via email or website. Tell them what you have and see if they know of a 64 convertible with this VIN.

Nobody has posted that they own the car but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

How long ago was the title issued? How long have you owned the motor? Current owner probably has no idea the original still exists, but finding the car can be tough if it's living in a garage under piles of stuff.

Some sort of title work had to have been done since Jan 1, 2010. That is when the NMVTIS database went active in all 50 states. A few states were participating prior to then, but that date is when all states were required to participate.

Again, the thing for the seller to do is contact the local Corvette clubs in PA. That has been done many times, and has resulted in many successful re-uniting of cars and parts.

Would you please enlighten me. I cannot find the sticky at the top of the page "Orphan VIN parts? I've tried before?
